Living room makeover- Fireplace before and after. When we moved in the fireplace was made up of an old gas fire with a modern white surround. to say it was hideous is an understatement! So we set about ripping it out and after a dust filled house and old plaster covering the floor we found there was actually a decent size fireplace with a pretty arch detail. We decided to treat and paint the brick white to give a cleaner appearance that was more in keeping with the room.
